Meet the HAPE Prime project
HAPE prime, formerly known as HAPEBEAST, is a BAYC inspired NFT collection that has managed to bridge community hype and street fashion. Even though the collection was launched a couple of months ago (precisely on January 19, 2022), it has already generated over 50.4k in ETH, or about $146,89M, in total sales volume. Let's explore the reasons behind this agiotage.

In-depth look
The HAPE Prime collection reflects 90s hip hop and fashion culture that features street fashion and athleisure wear. There are a total of 8192 BAYC-inspired, 3D rendered avatars built on the Ethereum blockchain. The project is in line with the metaverse concept that is central to the overall HAPE brand - several major luxury fashion houses have already approached the brand for collaboration. This new approach brings a fresh look to the BAYC touch that the community has highly welcomed.
Roadmap
With regard to the roadmap, some of the phases are rather vague but there are some interesting things included. The collection’s utility factor is closely associated with fashion music and multimedia solely available to the HAPE holders. By the way, Digimental, the founder and artist of the project, tweeted about the involvement of Snoop Dog. For instance, HAPE holders will be rewarded with official Hape music drops; secondary NFT airdrops; special digital collections and clothing; exclusive clothing merchandise collaboration with global fashion brands.
Also, the project is partnering with the Coinbase NFT team; together they will work closely on future drops, including pure digital deliveries and ones linked to physical events.
Community engagement
The project has a significant social media presence. Their Twitter account already has over 299k followers. The community on Discord is also very active and their Discord channel counts over 450.000 members. Furthermore, there is support for users in many different languages. Finally, their Instagram has over 188k followers and is primarily used to disclose upcoming art for the collection and release promotional material.
The team behind the project
The project is driven by Digimental Studios, the London-based design studio. The project members have extensive experience in their respective fields, some of whom have worked for world-leading companies like Google and Nike. Plus, HAPE has a large cadre of moderators and community-focused members in charge of curating the experience around the world.
Each HAPE was created and designed by Digimental founder and artist Matt Sypien whose past clients have included Nike, MTV, Chelsea FC, Jordan Air, and Nickelodeon. Matt is also a member of BAYC.
Rarity tools
Each HAPE has its own distinct style and unique traits that make each HAPE NFT contain a higher value based on its rarity attribute. HAPE Primes are ranked on a range of traits such as Background, Accessories, Hats, and so on. So, as usual, the rarity of the traits that HAPE possesses has an impact on the price. For instance, Index.hape.io is the official, certified NFT ranking tool for Hape to value the NFT based on rarity and rank.
Market stats
HAPEs were originally sold for $600 each. The current floor price sits at 1.5 ETH or about $3600. HAPE saw a floor asset growth of 3700% a week after minting. With a total volume of $146,89M, HAPE has entered the top 30 most traded collections in such a short period of time. The HAPE #217 was sold for ETH 99 or close to US$200,000, which is currently the record sale.
Closing thoughts
HAPE prime creates an organic hype with a strong sense of community surrounding it. The art is detailed and the concept behind the project is also compelling. BAYC's success continues with HAPE prime.
