How to Value Your PUNKS Comic NFTs
At first glance, this project seems to be merely about bringing a digital comic book to life, however, it is actually an in-depth offering from NFT, involving the strong sequence of the subsequent batch of activities, giveaways, and releases. PUNKS Comic was launched by Pixel Vault and this universe slowly created by them has attracted a lot of interest and capital. As well, Pixel Vault built a mechanism that provides future assets for the owner.

Deeper insight into the collection
PUNK Comic is an NFT comic series started by Pixel Vault, a media group focused on elevating crypto-native assets, and drawn by Marvel and DC Comics artist Chris Wahl. From the start, PUNKS Comic presented a great opportunity by providing utility to its collectors. Made up of 10,000 NFTs at a cost of 0.2 ETH to mint, PUNKSComic was released in May 2021. This is named Issue #1 of PUNKS Comic. In addition, collectors were not only given an NFT depicting the comic’s cover, but a fully downloadable PDF version of an actual digital comic that chronicles Beanie's journey.
The comic’s protagonist is Beanie, a take on CryptoPunk #8146 and its corresponding personality. Yes, Pixel Vault owns sixteen CryptoPunks and with Punks Comic they bring them all to live in comic form.
Punks Comic provides owners with the option to either hold, burn or stake their NFT and receive various rewards. Thus, there are two core things you can do with your minted comic:
Stake your PUNKS Comic NFT to earn fractional $PUNKS tokens
Burn your PUNKS Comic NFT to earn a "Founders Vault" token backed by the assets in the founders’ vault
Staking
When you stake your PUNKS Comic NFT, you will be allocated $PUNKS tokens representing the proportional ownership of the 16 CryptoPunks. “The $PUNKS tokens are fractional tokens, each representing fractionalized ownership of the 16 CryptoPunks who are characters in Issue #1 of the PUNKS Comic”. The estimated value of all 16 CryptoPunks in the possession of $PUNKS token holders is 1,200+ETH. Comic owners have the ability to stake their comics for a 24 months period.
$PUNKS tokens can be traded freely in the open market through Uniswap and Sushiswap.
Burning
The window for burning the PUNKS comic was opened to the public in early August with the 14-day burn period running until midnight on August 13, meaning the Pixel Vault founder's NFT supply is now final.
Upon burning a Punks comic book, an owner received a Pixel Vault Founder’s DAO token. “The Pixel Vault Founder’s DAO NFT represents proportional ownership of the works held by the Founder’s DAO”. It grants holders with access to a private Discord and governance over the Founder's DAO and its contents.
The initial assets of Dao listed on the PUNKS Comic website indicate an estimated value of 600 ETH, including 25% of $PUNKS tokens. Whereas the initial estimate of the stake's value is also 600 ETH. However, this does not include additional profits such as income from the NFT MetaHero mint or from the sale of merchandise.
Closing thoughts
The PUNKs Comic is above all a community-driven project. So far, the project has over 13k members on Discord Channel and about 34.6K followers on Twitter. The PUNKS Comic endorses the importance of the community and the core concept of decentralization. In addition, the team enhanced it with a real utility mechanic as they created a tough decision for PUNKS Comic holders.
Further plans are to integrate more storylines involving other CryptoPunks, other crypto projects, and any other events that are relevant to the crypto/NFT landscape. Moreover, Chris Wahl and team are currently finishing the PUNKS Comic Issue #2, expected “roughly December 7th. The first 5,000 original minters who received a PUNKS Comic Issue #1 will receive a PUNKS Comic Issue #2 for free.
