Parallel Alpha is presented as a Sci-Fi Card Game with NFTs. It implements the TCGs (trading card games) and NFTs (Non-Fungible tokens) featuring the ability to share, sell, and trade cards to facilitate in-game trading, while keeping each digital asset verifiable and trackable.

Let’s dive into the project starting with the storyline.
Parallel Alpha has developed a blockbuster story that will certainly catch the attention of Sci-Fi enthusiasts. The story occurs after human civilization has consumed all the natural resources of the planet. The disastrous event called “Priming” caused a mass exodus from Earth and humans across the planet had to sacrifice all available resources in order to create spaceships to escape the spread of radiation. After thousands of years, the Earth slowly evolved from a radiation sickened planet to a planet primed with abundant harvestable energy.
Humans divided into 5 different colonies- Earthens, Marcolien, Augencore, Kathari, and Shroud - will have to battle for control of the Earth. ‘Each markedly different, with their own strengths, strategies, and abilities’.
The Parallel Alpha collection
67 unique cards have been released to date. A complete list of cards can be found on the Parallel Alpha website. Each card has a 1/1 Masterpiece version and a limited supply of Special Edition versions.
Parallel dropped their first release of Alpha cards on March 25, 2021. The drop featured 15 playable cards, 5 card backs, and 8 concept art pieces. The second release of 52 cards took place in July. The third and fourth sales of cards will take place in October 2021 and January 2022.
Card Classifications
Here we brought together the existing card classification to give you a general understanding.
MASTERPIECES are the most elite collectible cards. These are ultra-exclusive 1/1 non-playable cards that reward their holders with a 1% prize of the corresponding Standard and Special Edition card's turnover activity of the same art.
For example, consider the Ashes to Ashes card. This card has been sold for a record 360 ETH or about $1.12M. It has 3,000 Standard cards and only 47 Special Edition Cards, and 1 Masterpiece. Every time one of the 3,047 cards transacts on OpenSea, 1% of the transaction volume accrues as reward to the holder of the Masterpiece’ card. These rewards are paid out quarterly.
SPECIAL EDITION cards are noticeable by the thin foil / hologram-like detailing on the QR code and border. When the game is released, it will have a different in-game appearance than its base counterpart. For instance, the total supply of Special Editions cards of the original first release is incredibly limited at 39–163 per card. Their floor price ranges between 6 and 38 ETH. Special editions of the 52 cards from July have a total supply of 250–1000 per card.
PERFECT LOOPS are playable cards that will feature as looped animations in play and in wallets. They will be available in the same edition as their Special Edition counterparts and will provide another layer of collectability.
STANDARD CARDS will form the core of your deck and are classified by their total edition size. From largest to smallest these tiers are: common, uncommon, rare, and legendary.
Assets
ASSETS are collectibles that have no gameplay function but have significant rarity value. These are special non-playable cards that provide other benefits. Assets include Prime Cards, Catalyst Drives, and collectible Card Backs.
PRIME CARDS are super rare promotional cards that were auctioned off during the presale or offered as giveaways or were available in packs. Prime cards have extremely powerful effects when played and for balance, reasons will not be usable for ranked competitive games. Another feature is Prime Keys which is a limited supply asset that also unlocks voting rights for Parallel Alpha.
Catalyst Drive has no function without a Prime Key. The edition size of Catalyst Drives is /150 NFTs.
CARD BACKS are aesthetic collectibles that will change the back of the card in-game. Card backs tend to indicate your allegiance to a particular Parallel and are another form of an in-game flex piece.
Upcoming gameplay mechanics
The core gameplay will be 1vs1 with pre-constructed decks. Each deck will be made of 40 cards. Needless to say that the game is only in its first stages of development. The development of the game will start in November 2021.
