How to value your MekaVerse NFTs
The number of NFT projects that have seen the light of day continues to expand dramatically. However, in the ocean of collections new islands of treasure remain to be discovered adding their unique touch to the NFT space. One such island is MekaVerse so far.
The MekaVerse is a collection of 8,888 generative “Mekas” with a variety of elements inspired by the "Japan Mecha'', a universe of Japanese anime/manga masterpieces such as Gundam, Evangelion, and even Code Geass created in the 1960s. According to the official website, the objective was to make each Meka unique in order to prioritize quality above quantity. The two artists behind the project are French: Matthieu Bracini and Mattey.
Since the collection dropped on 6 October, the project has already yielded over $148 million worth of sales (or 41K in ETH). The project reported having the holders of 172,876 unique wallets register for the raffle. This is a new record in the NFT space.

Introducing the MekaVerse collection
As mentioned above, the collection was inspired by Japan Mecha. Mechas are basically human-controlled robotic armors used to protect their world from hostile creatures coming from distant galaxies. There are 8,888 of them in the collection.
Each Meka is a 3D image randomly generated from a set of traits. When you look at these warriors, you clearly notice a lucid artistic vision and deliberate art direction behind the project. Of course, art is subjective, but all of the Mekas featured in the collection have a particularly elaborate design, where every visual detail has been shaped with finesse. This is a key feature rarely found in most of the current collections. Each artwork is original, with its own color palette and creation.
The project has received a lot of community appreciation and unprecedented attention. MekaVerse gained tens of thousands of followers in just a few days. At the moment, they have over 235,000 followers on Twitter and about 230,000 on their Discord. An exceptional interest in the collection!
Raffle Drop
Rather than hold an open mint, MekaVerse held a raffle to secure positions for the closed mint. To Mint a Meka NFT, collectors had to visit the website and select the amount of Mekas they wanted to mint. Then, they were asked to register and authenticate using Discord or Twitter.
To date, 8,593 NFTs were sold during the minting window at a fee of 0.2 ETH ($725) each, yielding more than 1,718 ETH to the team, or nearly $6.3 million. The remaining NFTs that were not minted will be used for future giveaways and promotions.
What’s interesting is that even secondary market buyers couldn’t see what they were getting with MekaVerse NFTs. All the images on OpenSea remained as animated placeholders before the collection was revealed on October 11, while the legendary Mekas were finally available on October 22.
MekaVerse Rarity System
Each of these Mekas is unique and distinguished by the attributes it possesses. You can find all sorts of accessories and traits such as Materials, Weapons, Jaws, Helmets, or backgrounds with varying styles and colors and so on. Each Meka in the collection is randomly assigned items during the mint.
For instance, there are only 4 Legendary Mekas within the collection: Yamabushi, F9 Lumidh, Horus, OG DeathStone. Yamabushi has generated the most sales, being the most expensive MekaVerse NFT sold so far. It was sold for 125 ETH or about $442.8k. The floor price of a MekaVerse NFT is currently sitting at 0.92 ETH.
Most recently, MekaVerse collaborated with @raritytools and @RaritySniperNFT to create its official rarity system. With these tools, you can see the rarity score assigned to a particular MekaVerse NFT, calculated based on the availability of attributes.
What's next for the Mekaverse collection?
According to the team, MekaVerse is an ongoing long-term project, and they have a lot of exciting things in the works. The project’s roadmap includes real-world utility: milestones like 3D printing to transform the Mekas into toys, merchandise, and apparel inspired by the collection and specific to the style and effigy of the MekaVerse.
MekaVerse further plans to partner with a number of well-known artists in the NFT community, but also around the world. Indeed, Mekaverse plans to develop a small secondary collection of Mekas where each of the NFTs on hand will be made under the direction of a different artist. All with a different style, design and approach than those present in the main collection.
Finally, the MekaVerse team aims to establish partnerships with famous Mecha licenses. These will be short films, other Mekas collections, important collaborations or real world events such as exhibitions, conferences etc.
In addition, the team is exploring new ideas and asking new questions. For example, what if your Meka could become a Super-Meka? What if you could combine Mekas? Or what if there was some way to fight with your Mekas?
Closing thoughts
What makes MekaVerse special is the extremely high quality of the image, the limitless innovation, and the story behind it. MekaVerse is one of the most artistically designed projects so far. Moreover, the project is backed up by a solid roadmap.
The project has a good chance to last in the evolving NFT market and deserves to be watched carefully by Mecha fans as well as NFT collectors.
